Beautiful Eyebrow Design

Learning new ways to color, wax, and shape your eyebrows can bring a bold and beautiful outcome!

Dye Your Brows

I use Joico professional color (20 vol. peroxide) to dye brows. Just choose a color of your choice. When it matches hair color, it will make them look fuller and gorgeous. I use a q-tip  to apply color to brows. Make sure the color does not get in the eye! Safety is important!

It will make a fashion difference!!

Waxing your Brows

1. I use honey wax (Satin Smooth), to remove hair. It is less of a irritant.
2. Waxing last longer than plucking or shaving, because it is pulled from its root. Waxing the brows gives a natural eye lift, and will exfoliate the skin.
3. Testing the wax temperature is a must before applying to the skin.
4. Shaping and trimming the brows can make you look so much better, also men can wax their brows too!
5. Aloe cools skin after waxing, and a moisturizer keeps skin soft.
6. It is so important to have good lighting to ensure a good shape and to see all the light color hairs.

These are the steps I use to wax brows:
1. Cut hair removal strips
2. Cleanse and dry skin
3. Comb brow and trim
4. Put on thin layer of wax
5. Place on strip and rub lightly
6. Make skin tout
7. Pull strip against grain
8. Apply pressure on brow
9. Apply Aloe
10. Moisturize

Making the brows look good makes such a difference. Wow! How cute you can look for a little money.

Giving your eyebrows a great shape makes your face have a polished look and helps your eyes stand out.  Having a professionals help and advice makes a difference.

Do not wax brows if:
1. Have very sensitive skin, rosacea
2. Sunburn
3. Recent chemical peel, botox, cosmetic, or reconstructive surgery
4. Using skin thinning products
5. Using blood- thinning medication
6. Using strong acne medications

Tweezing your Brows
Tweezing is a method to pull out hair by the root one hair at a time.  If you tweez, it is less painful to do it when you get out of the shower when cuticle is open. Weekly only pluck lightly in between waxing, to get the few strays. Do not go overboard; too much can make holes in your natural eyebrow shape. If you get any holes fill in with a brow pencil until it grows out.

You will need:
1. Great light
2. Magnifying mirror
3. Good set of tweezers so they will do a good job and will last a long time.
It is best when shaping eyebrows, to  go with your natural brow shape.
Once you get a great shape, maintain it weekly by tweezing (lightly) the strays and biweekly wax to clean up all unwanted hair.

Mahogany Hair Color

Mixing mahogany and deep copper red, gives a bold and beautiful look!! This look will turn heads! I use Joico Vero K-Pak Permanent Professional Hair Color.

Jordan wanted to try a new and totally different color!!

She started with light to medium brown hair.  On the top half of her hair I used 1/2 tube 5RM (red mahogany) and mixed it with 1/2 tube 5RR (red garnet) 20 volume peroxide.  On the bottom I used 1N Black.  I left the color on 25 minutes.  If your hair is darker you will need to use 5RM and 6RR (ruby red).

Putting a section of black underneath gives an even bolder look!!

Getting a Hair Cut

 Choosing A Hair Cut
We have the freedom to express ourselves with the hairstyles we wear. There are different methods to achieve what you want.  There are  many tools to get the results you desire.
1.  Make sure your stylist is experienced and well educated in this field.
2. Good communication and taking the time for your consultation is a must, in perfecting your style.
3. Having a picture really helps the stylist to know where you are coming from; to make it achievable, so you can get the hairstyle you love.
4. To maintain your style, trim hair before split ends start. It will keep hair healthy.  Having a great cut gives you more confidence.  It is a great feeling!

 Hair Styles

What's in? What do you like?
Some classic cuts never go out of style.
1. A blunt cut can sometimes look boring but sometimes classy!
2. Layered hair gives texture will give movement to the hair.
3. Stacking will give fullness.
4. Slide cutting with a razor around the face is great technique, and gives great shape.
5. Tapering and blending is a must when cutting men and women's short styles.
6. Make sure your hairdresser checks the hair cut over and over again it ensures an even cut.
7. Detail work at the end of a cut is what gives it the polished factor.

 Healthy Hair

Get Pre-Conditioning Treatment before and after chemical services.  Once a month get deep conditioning treatment.
A good one is Joico 4 step treatment.  I use this at the salon.  Leave each item on hair 3 to 5 minutes.
1. Chelating Shampoo removes build up off hair.
2. Cuticle Sealer restores pH balance and smooth-ens the cuticle.
3. K-Pak Reconstruct Treatment rebuilds hair structure.
4. K-Pak Intense Hydration quenches dry damaged hair.

 Body and Fullness

Scrunch hair when drying, use voluminous products.  Color and highlighting gives volume. Root boost, thickening products, curling and back combing gives fullness.
Watch out because most volumeizing  products dry out your hair. Don't use them every day!

 Straight Hair

Use smoothing and straightening  products also silk products with a silicone base.  Pull hair straight when blow drying with a round brush and use a straightening iron.
There are some great  permanent  straightening services that are available. Ask your stylist.

 Spike

Use a stiff gel.  Joico Spiker hair glue works great! Get your hair cut short enough so it will last!
Remove product build up
Chelating and clarifying shampoos helps remove build up off hair from styling products and mineral deposits.
Tip: Another great way to remove build up use 1/4 cup of baking soda and a couple tablespoons of shampoo.  Put in hair for 5 minutes and rinse then condition.

 Hold

Use moose, gel, lotions, and or  hair spray.  Don't over use products, it will weight hair down.

 Color

Professional color has come a long way.  It is better for the hair now and comes in more vibrant longer lasting colors.
1.  Good color will condition the hair, and will give body and fullness. I use K-Pak Joico color, Redken color gloss, and Matrix highlight bleach.
2. It is absolutely amazing how coloring your hair can change your appearance!  Blending or covering  gray can look natural.  Highlights can be bold or subtle.
3. Get some inspiration and try something new. Get ideas out of magazines, and off the internet; ask your hairdresser to make suggestions.
4. Exploring different options is fun, just make sure you are ready for a change.
5. If you are new to color, it might be better to try a demi- color.  It is great to be able to have the choice to change our hair color!

Mens Highlight for Red Heads!
My son Aaron is a young man with red hair. Highlights look great on red heads!!
Yes, I did not foil but use a cap, and it worked out great!! I used color graphics bleach powder with 22 promoter and blue pigment.
Getting a Up-do
1. Does your hairdresser know how to do an up- do?
2. A picture of what you want is important!
3. Make sure before the wedding or special event you get a hair consultation and a practice appointment, so it will be right for the big day!
Great UpDo!  This is the Maid of Honor.
